The most challenging part of your doorbell cam installation will likely be mounting it. While a drill is probably the most secure, permanent option, it’s not your only option. No-drill mounts or tape can also be used, but your mileage may vary.

If you are using a drill bit, you can follow these general instructions:

  1. Insert the battery into the device.
  2. Use the device, mounting bracket or any included guides to mark where you’re going to hang it with a pencil, leveling it with a bubble leveler.
  3. Drill holes into the proper spots. NOTE: Some wireless doorbells can be mounted without drilling.
  4. Add your anchors (if applicable).
  5. Use the remaining screws to mount the device or bracket.

Ring wireless doorbell cameras include a security screw to keep people from tampering with the battery. Refer to the instructions included to ensure you haven’t forgotten anything. The majority of wireless doorbell cameras will include guidelines for height and placement. Be sure to follow these carefully.
