Kim’s top 11 picks from CES 2019

Another successful CES event has wrapped up. Over 180,000 people in attendance got to witness the future of technology from nearly 4,500 exhibiting companies. It’s the biggest event of its kind in the U.S.

Smart toilets, iceless coolers, tons of new robots and so much more was on full display. Surely something caught your eye this week as there seemed to be something for everyone.

There were plenty of cool new gadgets that Kim liked, too. Let’s check some of them out.

Here are Kim’s top 11 picks from CES 2019

1. LG Signature Series OLED Rollable TV

CES is known for showcasing groundbreaking televisions, and this year’s event did not disappoint! LG is rolling out its futuristic Rollable OLED TV, and it’s spectacular.

Not only is the picture quality dazzling, but this TV will let you maximize the space in your home. In full view, the display rolls out and rises on your demand and then disappears without a trace when you’re done watching. Why would you want such a thing, you ask? Unobstructed views, multi-purpose rooms, etc.

Check it out below:

2. Samsung 219-inch microLED TV

This massive TV by Samsung is 219 inches. Do you understand just how big that is? That’s over 18 feet. Yikes!

It’s so big, they’re calling it “The Wall.” It has a microLED display that delivers an amazing picture quality with pure black, true color and epic clarity.

MicroLED technology transfers micrometer-scale LEDs into LED modules, resulting in what resembles wall tiles comprised of mass-transferred clusters of almost microscopic lights. Mounted together as a uniform canvas and plugged in, they create a similar viewing experience to what you get with QLED TVs.

You’re even able to customize The Wall to a variety of sizes and designs according to your home’s available space and how you want it to look. Truly amazing!

3. LOVOT Groove X

The LOVOT is an adorable little companion robot made by Groove X. The creators said their goal was to design a robot that makes you happy.

When you touch your LOVOT, embrace it, or even just watch it, you’ll find yourself more relaxed and feeling better. LOVOT even reacts to your moods and will try and lift your spirits if you’re feeling down.

The cute little buddy will cost you a pretty-penny though. They will sell for about $3,000 each. And the creators want you to buy two of them, so they don’t get lonely.

4. AirSelfie drone

AirSelfie showed off its new line of pocket-sized drones at CES. It’s a portable HD camera that flies and follows you around to help takes selfies. Because we need to be more self-involved, amIright!? I guess the selfie-stick is a thing of the past.

The AirSelfie connects with your smartphone to let you take HD photos of you, your friends, and everything going on in life from the sky. It can climb to heights of around 65 feet, which is perfect for capturing a wide scene of pictures and videos on your gadget.

It has a 5 MP camera with an integrated 4GB micro SD card. The AirSelfie works with both Android and Apple devices.

5. Byton M-Byte

Byton gave details at CES 2019 about the interior design of its upcoming M-Byte electric SUV. It’s basically a wraparound digital dashboard and steering wheel-mounted touch screen for the self-driving cars of the future.

The Shared Experience Display (SED) is the world’s largest in-car display for production vehicles. It’s a 48-inch-wide, curved display with three areas for content that shows vehicle and driving information.

The display’s position was carefully designed and tested to not affect driver line-of-sight, for safety reasons. It can automatically adjust brightness according to changes in ambient lighting to avoid further distraction.

6. Gaze Tray

Apple fans are going to LOVE this! They’ve had wireless charging envy for years, watching their Android-equipped friends plop their devices on charging trays.

The Gaze Tray is a wireless charger that can charge multiple gadgets at the same time. It looks like a stylish tray that you would keep at your workstation or nightstand to organize your things, but can also charge your devices.

7. Coleen bike

The Coleen bike is made in France and is perfect for lovers of vintage prestige, purists, and all those who appreciate beautiful pieces. Its design is inspired by vintage French bikes.

It’s made with a carbon frame, which means it’s super light, weighing just around 4 pounds. It also has a built-in GPS and navigation system.

8. LynQ location tracking

They’ll get experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Processing and Shader. It’s a great way for kids to learn programming while having fund by diving into the world of Disney. They are sure to love it.

10. Y-Brush

This is one of those why-didn’t-I-think-of-it inventions.

We’ve always been told to brush our teeth for 2 minutes, at least twice a day. The makers of Y-Brush claim it can clean your teeth in just 10 seconds.

It’s basically a collection of bristles set-up in a 45-degree angle around a mouthguard. Just put it in your mouth for 10 seconds and it supposedly gives you the same level of cleaning as a standard toothbrush. I don’t know!?!? Watch the following video to see how it works:

11. MONIT smart diaper

Did you ever imagine a world full of smart diapers? Well, it’s becoming a reality.

The Monit smart diaper sensor attaches to the outside of a diaper and tells parents when the baby is due for a change. The sensor is a tiny disc that sends information to its app. It then … you know what, let’s just watch the demonstration video to see how it actually works:

Those are the most interesting things Kim spotted at CES in 2019. Which of these will actually come to market? Who knows, but we’ll keep an eye out for the best of the best in tech.
