Hello friends,
I hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving Day, spending time with the people you love and eating delicious food. Along with watching the parade, having good conversations and slipping into a turkey coma, don’t forget to take a moment to reflect on your own life. I’m sure there are many wonderful things you are thankful for.
I’m thankful for my husband, Barry, and son, Ian. I have been blessed to have a loving family, a healthy body, a great career, and a way to help and give back to people from all walks of life.
Today, I’m keeping things short and sweet. Over the next couple of days, the team and I are sharing what you’ve been asking me for all month: Shopping picks! The goal is to take all the dread out of checking all your people off your list.
Deal hunter at your service
Some of you will think this is weird, and others will shout, “Me too, Kim!” I love getting my house sparkling clean after Thanksgiving. I put on some tunes, scrub every corner and then the house is ready for Christmas decorations. Here are some tools to make it easier.
- Electric spin scrubber for the bathtub, tile and grout – 30% off
- Cleaning scrubber attachments for your drill – Under $20
- Folex carpet spot remover (like magic) – 72% off
- Bar Keepers Friend doesn’t stink and cuts through grease – 16% off
- The Pink Stuff cleans anything, really – Under $6
- Glisten foaming garbage disposal freshener – Under $1 per use
- Cleaning gel to get dust and grime out of small spaces – 41% off
- Dawn Powerwash for those really greasy holiday dishes – Under $9
- 2-pack of cleaning gloves so you don’t dry out your hands – 20% off
- Baseboard Buddy to dust and save your back – 20% off
- 7-pack of brushes, pads and tools for all over the house – Under $8
One more:
Best vacuum ever that’s pricey, I know. But the laser light shows you microscopic dirt and sucks it all up. Let me tell you, I thought my carpet was clean until the first time I used this vacuum.
🧹 I’ll keep you company while you clean! Catch up on my podcast. Bonus: You’ll get some great/bad jokes to make your loved ones groan.
What I’m thankful for this year, the tech edition!
- An instant way to talk to or text the people I love. How lucky are we all to have that?
- GPS. Remember printing out MapQuest directions? Oh, the good old days.
- A phone that can hold so many pictures that turn into treasured memories. Pro tip: “Like” or tap the little heart on any good ones you take this holiday season to easily find them later.
- Online shopping. Call me lazy if you want, but boy, is it nice to have just about anything I need show up at my house. Be nice and tip your delivery people extra during the holidays if you can.
- ChatGPT! OK, it’s far from perfect, but it’s saved me a ton of time this year. Here’s how to get better results.
- Our sponsors. I only work with companies I stand behind, and they keep my radio show, podcasts and newsletters free to you.
- I saved an important one for last: You! Because of your support, we can provide tech news, tips and advice that help millions of people. Thank you, truly.
Don’t miss these Black Friday deals
I’ve gathered up some of the best Black Friday sales in case you’re in the shopping mood after you finish your mashed potatoes.
- Amazon is, of course, discounting Amazon gear the most. You’ll find Ring video doorbells and Echo devices for up to 70% off.
- Walmart is focusing on electronics this year. Look for deals on stuff from Apple, LEGO and Shark, too.
- Target has sweet deals on electronics, especially video games. You can also score a KitchenAid stand mixer for $200 off if you’ve always wanted one.
- Macy’s is offering 50% off select clothes if you need a wardrobe upgrade.
- Home Depot is the place to look for deals on tools and appliances. When purchased together, you can save $500 on an LG washer and dryer.
- Best Buy is the spot for TVs. The 75-inch Samsung Crystal UHD 4K model is only $579.
- Kohl’s is offering savings on many items, from clothing to jewelry, toys and more.
Have a safe and fun Thanksgiving and a restful vacation!
Hugs,
K
